Terms of use
The operating boundary for using GradeAssist responsibly.
Last updated July 31, 2026
Agreement
These terms govern use of the GradeAssist public website and service unless a written pilot or institutional agreement applies. If those documents conflict, the written agreement controls.
By using GradeAssist, you confirm that you are authorized to act for yourself or the organization whose workspace you use.
Authorized use
Use GradeAssist only for lawful educational and administrative purposes. Do not upload material you are not authorized to process, attempt to access another account, interfere with service security, or use the service to make prohibited automated decisions.
You are responsible for keeping account credentials secure and for activity performed through your account.
Human oversight
GradeAssist prepares grading evidence, draft scores, review reasons, and exports. It does not replace instructor judgment. The authorized teaching team remains responsible for the rubric, review of uncertain work, final grading decisions, and release of grades.
Do not treat a model output, confidence value, or draft score as final without the review required by your course and institution.
Your materials
You retain the rights you hold in assignments, rubrics, submissions, and other material you provide. You permit GradeAssist and its approved service providers to process that material only as needed to operate, secure, and support the service.
You are responsible for obtaining any permissions required to provide that material to GradeAssist.
Service boundary
GradeAssist is an evolving pilot service. Features, model providers, and integrations may change as controls are tested and improved. Material changes affecting an approved institutional deployment should be reviewed under the applicable agreement.
The service may depend on third-party hosting, AI, email, analytics, or scheduling providers. Their availability can affect GradeAssist. Pilot access may be limited or suspended when needed to protect users, data, or service integrity.
